How to Begin Streaming on Facebook Gaming

For a long time, the news circulated that Facebook Gaming will be a platform for gamers to stream just like YouTube and Twitch. Well, that was no rumour because Facebook knows the potential of streamers. On the global level, there are numerous streamers of games, and Facebook wants to reach out to every single one of them. Watching streaming on Facebook will not be tricky because it is also the world’s biggest social media platform. Using Facebook is quite simple, so the streaming platform will be easy to use as well. Streamers can easily talk to their viewers and make strong community relations. So if you are not aware of Facebook Gaming, here is what you need to know.

Set up Facebook Gaming

Before starting the streaming on Facebook Gaming, you need to create a Facebook account and Facebook Gaming creator page. If you stream the console games, then you will require a capture card too. Simply you need to create a personal account, and then you need to create a creator page. Currently, a direct creator account is not possible, so you have to follow the existing process. Even if you don’t use a personal account, there’s nothing wrong. You can lock your personal account and use the creator account for live streaming. The procedure of creating the account is completely simple, and here are the steps to follow:

  1. Log in with your “Personal Facebook Account.”
  2. Tap on the “Create” option.
  3. Choose “Page.”
  4. Name the “Title” of your page.
  5. Select “Gaming Video Creator” category.

Steps are easy to follow. Some remaining points exist in which you will be asked to choose the avatar and cover image before publishing the page.

The design and features of the page are different from personal accounts. You will get a lot of options on the page for setting up. Unlike the personal account, you can control a lot of things related to your page.

Just like the news feed of personal accounts, you will have social feed on-page as well. For you, there will be one advantage, which is that you can upload non-Facebook made videos as well. In a platform like Twitch, it is not possible, but Facebook will provide you this type of flexibility. So if you have managed all the settings, now move on to streaming

How to Set Up Facebook Stream

Facebook streaming is quite different from streaming services like Twitch or Mixer. To do live streaming, you require a PC even if you are playing on a console or PC. Mobile app development will allow mobile gamers to stream, but this currently not available completely.

In software like Streamlabs OBS where you can easily sign-in to Facebook and the rest of the things the software will do. However, the regular OBS wants the stream key before the live stream. Facebook works differently. You always need a stream key before you begin a live stream. Every time the stream key will be different, that will broadcast otherwise, you could try the static one. Here is how to do that:

  1. Launch the “Streamer Dashboard.”
  2. Below the “Latest Stream” column, tap on “Go Live.”
  3. Tap on the “Connect” tab.
  4. Look into the box near “Use a persistent stream key.”

Do not give your stream key to anyone else even though you can copy and paste it. You need to follow the same procedure whenever you begin the live stream. The Connect tab will always get into use wherever you go live. Create a title so viewers can see what the stream is about.

Now you have your page for posting and going live content and details of complete set up of streaming. Use your preferred software for streaming, and you are all ready to go live.

Facebook Level Up Program

If you are new in the streaming community, you should know about the Facebook Level Up program, which is similar to the affiliate program of Twitch. From this program, you will be able to monetize the posted content.
