Bill and Ted Face the Music: The Duo Is Back After 25 Years!

Since the release of the 1991’s Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, fans have been craving for more of William “Bill” S. Preston andTed “Theodore” Logan III’s time traveling and death-defying adventure chronicles. Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves played the hard-rocking duo. It has been 25 years since and the fans’ request is finally answered with the movie titled “Bill and Ted Face the Music” scheduled to hit the screens on the 28th of August this year. The movie’s release date was first pushed to 14th of August but to avoid clashing with Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet”, the makers decided it was wiser to release their movie on 28th. Internet was hit with the first trailer of the film and production value for the franchise has skyrocketed, to say in the very least.

It looks like the duo will time travel to the future to steal the music that will save and unite the world – and they will take it from themselves! Before the release of the trailer, screenwriter Ed Solomon shared a picture of the two stars on twitter and got nostalgic. He also took to his Twitter page to encourage everyone to submit videos of themselves rocking out to win a chance to appear in the final cut of the movie. The marketing team came up with a brilliant idea where they posted three coloring pictures to help the weary and isolated people cope through this world pandemic situation as well as promote the movie. Talking with the Empire Magazine, Director Dean Parisot said that Bill and Ted will have would have the world within only 78 minutes.

He said the previous movie was just about homework while in the new movie the stakes are higher due to world unity being in danger. A keen look at the trailer also makes one notice that the two guys, now fathers, are dressed to impress. Are they attending their children’s wedding?

Back in January 2020, Orion Pictures released a picture from the sets of Bill and Ted Face the Music, which featured Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving as their kids. The photo had created a lot of buzz for the movie in the audience. Keanu Reeves and Wyld Stallyns may look their age in a new trailer, but they have not yet given up their attempt at making a band. A newly added challenge the two faces is fatherhood. Entertainment Weekly had shared the first-ever look of the movie and the first look at Lundy-Paine and Weaving as their kids. Like all the updates the fans have received from Solomon, they also got pictures that confirmed the return of their favorite pale avatar of death played by William Sadler.

One minute observation from the trailer is that they do not seem to have aged at all in these 25 years. The cast and crew associated with this project are more than excited because they made this movie happen despite all the rumors, scheduling delays, and possibilities of shelving. Last-minute cast announcements followed the beginning of the film shooting. According to the reports by Deadline, Jayma Mays and Erin Hayes will be the new wives to the actors, and Amy Stoch and Hal Landon Jr. will continue to play the role of Bill’s mom and Ted’s dad, respectively. The official twitter page for the movie posted a photo on the 6th of June with the actresses’ (playing the daughters) faces juxtaposed with their on-screen fathers to showcase the similarities between the two generations.
