Archiverse has had a rough week. It has hardly been a few days since the CW pulled the plug on the much-awaited Riverdale spinoff, Katy Keene. Multiple sources have confirmed that Netflix will no longer continue with “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” after the two super-sized seasons (or the four seasons) of the show.
Although initially, this Riverdale offshoot was meant for CW but switched platforms when Netflix offered a two-season deal. The show refers to its seasons as Parts. Where the first Part had 11 episodes, nine episodes in Part Two, and Part Three and four had eight episodes each. The show premiered in October 2018. The final Part of the show is yet to be released and will be available later this year.
It seems to be a Netflix pattern because Ozark, one of its most popular dramas, was also renewed for its fourth and final season lately. Talking about working on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, developer, exec producer and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said that he felt a sense of honour to be a part of the show. He thanked the crew, including the writers, editors, and assistants and expressed his joy to have worked with them. He further thanked the show partners: Netflix, Warner Bros., Berlanti Television and Archie Comics who gave him the liberty to present the story in a way he wanted to.
The show is set in an imaginary little town of Greendale. The show premises on horrors and witchcraft the protagonist of the show, Sabrina Spellman part-witch part-human is a student of Baxter high and tries her level best to lead as healthy a life as possible. Sabrina is soon left with no choice but to come to terms with her dual identity while fighting off the evils that threaten her existence and that of her family. The show also portrays Sabrina Morningstar’s life, an alternate timeline version of Sabrina, who is quick to embrace the darkness that surrounds her life and town.
The main cast of the show comprises Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, Gavin Leatherwood, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Lachlan Watson, Michelle Gomez , Richard Coyle, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph and Abigail Cowen.
The plot for the final Part includes Eldritch Terrors plummeting upon Greendale. The coven will have to fight every horrid threat one by one all leading to The Void, which is the End of All Things. As the witches declare war, Nick begins to gradually make his way back to Sabrina’s heart.
