A performer at Moscow's renowned Bolshoi Theatre was killed on Saturday in an accident on stage during an opera, the theater said.
A star performer at Moscow's famous Bolshoi Theatre was killed on Saturday after a crash in the stage during an performance, the theater announced.
The Bolshoi one of the most prestigious Russian theatres, has said that the incident happened during a change of set in Sadko an opera written composed by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
"The opera was stopped immediately with the crowd being instructed to go out," the theatre said in an interview with The Interfax information agency.
Moscow investigators stated that they were investigating the causes of death of the 37 year old performer the man. They did not release the identity of the man.
The Interfax news report cited sources as saying it was reported that the artist was smashed by the ramp in the course of the change of scenery. Sources informed to the RIA that as well as TASS news agency that he had been killed by a fallen part of the decor.
