Manhattan Apple Store Guard Stabbed Twice In Mask Dispute

A witness heard the customer say he wouldn't put on a mask for "anybody" before he lunged at the guard.

In the most recent act of violence, involving COVID-19 security precautions A security guard in an Apple shop located in downtown Manhattan has been attacked multiple times by a customer who was unable to put on a face mask police said.

The guard, 37 years old who was not identified, was brutally stabbed across the left forehead and arm according to police reports, in the incident on Friday night, when he told a person to enter the store that their the store's policy that he had to wear masks. The guard was reportedly stabbed by witnesses. was also wounded in his midsection.

The guard was told by the customer that he wouldn't wear a mask on anyone before he swarmed at the guard, according to a witness who spoke with the PIX11-TV.

Others, according to reports, managed to drag the bloody guard inside the store, and the attacker then fled on foot, heading for an underground station. He was still at large on late on Saturday night.

Guard was " bent over, grasping his hands" following the assault witnesses Roberto Monticello told The New York Daily News.

The guard was being taken off a stretcher, along with two paramedics and a few police officers. A few were " running to the back," apparently seeking the suspect, Monticello told ABC 7 TV.

Guard was critical state, however the wounds weren't life-threatening and he was receiving treatment in Bellevue Hospital.
