Trump-Loving Cousins IDed By Online Sleuths Are Arrested For Attacking Cops At Capitol

#MississippiFlagGuy and #KingstonAsh were identified by online sleuths back in February.

The FBI has detained two cousins who assaulted Police officers at the time of the Jan. 6, Capitol protests and were discovered by internet sleuths, showing yet again how independent investigators assist an investigation by the FBI into this incident which was inspired by former president Donald Trump.

Tommy Smith, known as #MississippiFlagGuy, as well as Donnie Wren, also known as #KingstonAsh were both arrested this week, just nine months after the incident. Both are facing an indictment of 10 counts. indictment which includes a variety of criminal charges.

"Still cannot believe these photos got to this point LOL," Smith posted on Facebook with a post which featured Smith in the crowd in front of the Capitol.



Smith also included pictures of himself sporting the Trump hat with his sister, Wren who was carrying the Trump banner in Washington on January. 6.

"Oh it's because I'm running with you," Smith wrote.

The arrests are another example of the significant role that internet sleuths are playing in aiding the FBI find those Trump supporters who fought police and attacked the Capitol on Jan. 6. The FBI has expressed gratitude to the public for helping and stated that they are working in the background to follow-up on information, even if results of the arrests can take a few months.

One of the sleuths that were involved in the investigation said to HuffPost on March 1 that they believed the pair are "hard for anyone to ignore" partly due to Smith's former Mississippi flag that was adorned with that of the Confederate Battle Flag. This version of the flag was removed in 2020 after the 126-year period. The investigation was a collective effort of those in the "Sedition Hunter" community. read more.
