Guest Characters That Every Soulcalibur Fan Will Love to See Featured in the Game

It is quite common for fighting games to have guest characters. When a beloved character of some popular franchise is added to an already long-list, the guest character’s popularity gets people to buy games. It eventually helps make more profit, and the Soulcalibur series understood this a long time ago. It has featured Geralt from The Witcher, Darth Vader, Link from The Legend of Zelda, and many more. So, Soulcalibur is no stranger to including guest characters in the game to make more sales. Today we look at some exciting characters that should join this long-list.

Dante

When Soulcalibur III was released, there were rumors that the Devil May Cry’s stylish protagonist would be a guest character. However, it later turned out to be a rumor only, and there was no official confirmation by the Soulcalibur franchise, but it does not mean he will not be a great character to have in the game. He has various swords to choose from, and his devil trigger is ideal for some of the game’s challenges. Therefore, Devil May Cry’s Dante deserves to be featured in Soulcalibur VI more than any other character.

Bayonetta

Just like Dante, Bayonetta also has a history with the game as she was supposed to be featured in Soulcalibur V. However, she was never given a chance because of the complexities of her attacks. But it is not impossible to imagine her in the latest game in the series since her ability to summon demons can complement her attack with guns. Although Gun-wielding characters in the game are rare, there have been a few so far, so it does not make sense to reject the idea of having Bayonetta based on that factor alone.

Ichigo

Soulcalibur has never shied away from introducing characters from the world of manga or anime. So, it would not be odd if Soulcalibur VI features Ichigo from Bleach. He has a wide variety of weapons at his disposal, and his unique attacks will be intriguing to see in the game. Thus, it is hard to argue that he won’t be an excellent inclusion for Soulcalibur VI. His merged hollow form is ideal for Soulcalibur’s Soul Charge mechanic.

Undyne

Characters from Indie games are often ignored when it comes to making guest appearances. Soulcalibur VI has featured characters from games like The Witcher and Nier: Automata, so it seems that the time is right to give more characters from Indie games a representation in fighting games. One of the most loved Indie games of the past few years has been Toby Fox’s Undertale. Undyne, the third boss of the game, seems like an interesting character to have on Soulcalibur VI. His weapon mastery will come in handy in the weapon focused fighting game.

Orchid

The fans of Soulcalibur and Killer Instinct have been waiting for a long time for the fighting game to introduce a character from the latter. Orchid seems like an ideal choice because she will fit perfectly into the Soulcalibur universe. Her offensive playing style is perfect since she uses fast attacks, giving her opponents little time to adjust to the situation. She is also quite like the characters Taki and Maxi from the Soulcalibur game. Her stung weaponry will be an exciting tool for her since most rushdown characters in the game lack ranged options making her extremely effective against them. Both Killer Instinct and Soulcalibur are fighting games; therefore, it will be interesting to see a character feature into a relatively new universe. Her unique fighting style will make Orchid the ideal character to be introduced in the game.

Soulcalibur has a long history of featuring characters from other franchises. They have been doing it successfully for a long time now. The characters mentioned above all have a huge fan following. Soulcalibur fans have been waiting to see them feature in the game, so it would make sense to give them a chance in the latest game. No one understands this better than Soulcalibur’s creators, who know how to make a profit by introducing popular guest characters from other franchises.
