Millie Bobby Brown Cast of Stranger Things Hired For The Electric State Adaptation

Millie Bobby Brown has been cast in the upcoming The Electric State adaptation.

Millie Bobby Brown is a producer and an actress. The actress received recognition for her character as Eleven in the popular science fiction series Stranger Things. Brown has received Primetime nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She also starred in the 2020 mystery film Enola Holmes. In 2019 the young actress launched a color cosmetics line, Florence by Mills.

The Electric State is based on the graphic novel written by Simon Stålenhag. The story takes place in the reimagined version of 1997. The plot of the story is set in 1997 and follows a teenage girl. The girl runs away, with her small yellow toy robot travels through a strange American landscape, where she witnesses the battle between the humans in their VR helmets and a strange breed of monstrous drones in the wake of technology breakdown.

In 2017, it was revealed that writers Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus are attached to the novel’s upcoming adaptation. Then the two writers shared the cover of Simon StÃ¥lenhag’s novel. The director of IT, Andy Muschietti, was also on board to direct the movie. However, now the project is going in a different direction.

According to the article in Deadline, Millie Bobby Brown was selected for Michelle’s character in the upcoming adaptation of The Electric State. The casting news is shared by Universal Pictures, which has bought the graphic novel’s rights. The studio also revealed that the directors of Avengers: Endgame, Joe and Anthony Russo, will direct the adaptation. Due to the upcoming project, The Flash, Muschietti stepped back from the adaptation movie. The Flash is the twelfth movie in the DC Extended and stars Ezra Miller in the character of Barry Allen/The Flash. Miller will still produce the movie Electric State with his producing partner Barbara Muschietti.

The movie will start production work in late 2021 or early 2022. The star of the movie, Brown, is right now busy with the shooting of Stranger Things season 4. On the other hand, the Russo brothers are coping with the busy schedule of The Gray Man.

The Russo Brothers are best known for their projects, including the comedy series Arrested Development, Happy Endings, Community, Avengers: Infinity War, and  Avengers: Endgame. They have also won a Primetime Emmy Award for Arrested Development. The announcement of the Russos Brothers’ involvement is very exciting as it will reunite the duo with McFeely and Markus.

The Electric State has received appreciation for the heartbreaking story, and distinct visuals got strong positive reviews from the readers. Fans of the book are eagerly waiting for the movie. However, The Russos, McFeely, and Markus have demonstrated that they will present the screenplay in a slightly different style. Hopefully, viewers would love the new perspective too.
