Officials at Fort Hood in Texas are searching for Pfc. Jennifer Sewell, a soldier who's been missing since last Thursday.

(CNN) Officials from Fort Hood in Texas are in search of Pfc. Jennifer Sewell, a soldier who's missing since Thursday.

Sewell disappeared from her barsracks at 4.30 p.m. (5 p.m. ET) on the 7th of October According to an statement issued by the Fort Hood Directorate of Emergency Services (DES), that said she did not show up for work on the following day. Sewell's chain of command, law enforcement and her family members have been not able to reach her in the days since.

"Initial investigation suggests that Sewell quit for reasons that are not clear at her own will," the statement said that she did not have a car.
      Officials have described Sewell to be an African American woman with brown hair and eyes that is 5'5 inches tall. Anyone who has information on the location she could be located is requested to get in touch with Fort Hood Military Police.



        There has been a number of soldiers have passed away or gone missing while working at the Army post in Killeen, Texas, in recent times, including 20-year-old Spc. Vanessa Guillen, who disappeared in April of this year and was later discovered that she had been crushed death with a hammer within the armory in which she worked.
            The primary suspect of her disappearance, a second soldier, committed suicide as the police questioned him.
            The series of deaths led to an independent examination of the culture and culture of Fort Hood, which led to the detention of 14 officers who were senior.
